**** Originally I was drawn in by the catchy melody of the chorus, and over time as I began to notice more and more of the lyrics, my enjoyment only grew. The story of someone who has done wrong and is seeking redemption but finds others unforgiving is a familiar one, but some clever lines among the lyrics help this stand out. I particularly like the way the chorus offers some hope lyrically with "but for you he'll make the exception" after the situation has been sounding hopeless throughout the verses and bridge. It's a nice note to end on. Aside from the incredibly catchy chorus, the bridge particularly stands out as an effective moment when the guitar disappears, allowing the vocals and lyrics to really shine. The use of the guitar is quite effective also, it's somewhat a relentless force throughout the verses and chorus, adding quite a lot of energy. When combined with the fast pace of the vocals, something of a sense of desperation is created, fitting the mood perfectly.
