*** Naja, da gefiel mir "Take Your Time" viel viel besser.
** Welcome to Whose Line Is It Anyway, the show where everything's made up and the points don't matter, that's right, the points are like the expectation of country-marketed music to sound like country music. Let's move onto a game called Scenes From A Hat, this is for all four of you. Our first scene is 'Things you can say about your golf course but not your girlfriend'.
* Bleurgh. Shut up. What do you mean by a "back road"? To me, a back road is battered, dusty, usually unsealed, poorly maintained compared to a main road, and largely ignored and irrelevant to the point where they don't appear in street directories. Is this how you want to describe a woman and her body?
Time Magazine nominated their 2017 Person of the Year to the "Silence Breakers," the group of thousands of people, mostly women, who bravely came forward with proven allegations of sexual abuse and rape. For the first time in modern history, this was recognised by authorities and the general public, finally recognising and punishing perpetrators and vindicating victims. Women have been fighting for their rights to be recognised equally for centuries, yet this song is just an indulgence of those old male tropes that perpetuate a culture of objectification.
Oh, I'm sorry Sam, you were singing how curvy her body is, and that's a *positive* thing? Do women like having their body shapes sung about in a song? Where's the songs from women celebrating how great their partner's penis shapes are? The ambiguity in interpretation of women in this song, whether positive or negative, is not good enough and is, frankly, completely unacceptable. It's fucking 2017, stop supporting this crap.
* The title lyric and the whole concept of the song is just silly. Also, driving with your eyes closed is a bit dangerous. I'd hate to be the woman he wants to root if he's so careless, as well as with the descriptions he make. Also the music makes me think of "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker mixed along with the obnoxious background "hey!" making an appearance for some reason. Unappealing in almost every way.
** I hear this on the radio often but thank God this didn't make it higher on the NZ Charts. The lyrics is kinda silly and particularly confusing. Other thoughts of what is a Back road? And also country in Hip hop music has got a mixedfailure
