**** I heard this song without knowing at first that it was from the soundtrack for Frozen 2. Having loved Idina Menzel's version of "Let It Go" from the first movie, I would have waited to hear her version of this song (because it was obviously for her) before checking this one out if I'd known. Instead, this is the version I heard first, and while Idina's is of course impressive, this is the one I became more accustomed to and ended up preferring. I haven't seen the movie to know the context for the song, but I didn't need to see the first to love "Let It Go". Brendon is an surprising choice for this song, but he's very impressive on it. The high notes are a feat not many could accomplish. I'd probably get more from the lyrics if I'd seen the movie to know the context, but I do very much enjoy the almost taunting nature of the first verse. The way the melody picks up the pace leading into the chorus is great, and allows the chorus to be the moment it should. The dramatic nature of this song is fantastic; clearly this fills the role that "Let It Go' did in the first movie, and as such, it was probably always going to appeal to me.
